The Dingle Way - Stage 8 - Castlegregory to Tralee is stunning but strenuous 8 to 9 hour walking route on sandy beaches and on the slopes of the Slieve Mish Mountains before finishing in Tralee, county Kerry in south west Ireland. This final stage of the Dingle Way has only one steep climb with the remaining walk only undulating ascents on bogland, very quiet roads, 7km of beautiful beaches and easy mountain walking on the slopes of the Slieve Mish Mountains with great view of Tralee Bay, Derrymore Island, Fenit and Blennerville with Irelands only working windmill.
The Dingle Way is one of many long-distance walking trails in Ireland but this walk has some of the most stunning scenery and history you’ll every experience as you undertake the loop of the Dingle Peninsula over an average of 8-9 days. Officially it starts and finishes in Tralee, the capital of Kerry but you can join the walk at any stage along its 180km length.
This walk is only a short drive from Tralee and there are also many other shorter walks in the area. Use our Map of Ireland and Sat Nav tool to get directions to the start point of this walk and use our detailed map and GPS on our App to find and follow the walking route and keep on track.
