Mulrannys Blue Flag Beach is a popular beach located south-west of Mulranny village and is accessible via the Causeway. There are Lifeguards on duty from June to August every summer as well as toilet facilities. From teh beach there are breathtaking views across Clew Bay and out towards Clare Island and Croagh Patrick Mountain in the distance. The beach is very popular for swimming, walking, cycling, running, bird watching and especially watersports.
The area has an important stand of Mediterranean heath and the machair sand plains and saltmarsh are especially of interest due to their rich in flora, fauna and birdlife. There is an access ramp to the beach available.
