Mullaghroe Blue Flag Beach is located 6 miles from Belmullet town, on the Mullet Peninsula. This picturesque curved and secluded beach has soft sand and clear water. It is nicely sheltered by the sand dunes and is great for swimming, playing with the kids, walking, bird watching and many other watersports. There is a small car park which provide easy access to the beach. The beach is not wheelchair accessible but with effort you could lift a buggy across and onto the beach. The land surrounding the shore is brackish and salt marshes are present in the sheltered inlets. There provide the feeding and breeding grounds for the local bird population which can be a great treat for birders.
