The Dingle Way is a beautifully scenic long distance walking trail on the world famous Dingle Peninsula, Co. Kerry and one of the best best waymarked trails in Ireland if not in Europe. At approximately 176 km (109 miles) long, the hiking route officially begins and ends in Tralee but you can join the trail at any number of points along its length as it hugs the coast along the Wild Atlantic Way. Take our route map, Gps directions and guide with you by downloading our Free App on iPhone and Android. 
The Dingle Way takes in the entire Dingle Peninsula and is the walking alternative to the Dingle Peninsula scenic drive and cycle which follows a similar route on main roads. The main towns on the route are Tralee and Dingle including many interesting, scenic and colourful villages and destinations such as Camp, Inch, Anascaul, Ventry, Dunquin, Ballyferriter, Brandon, Conor Pass, Castlegregory, and the unique Blasket Islands. There are also many short loop walks and many mountain hikes and trails off the main Dingle Way offering excellent walking alternatives to cater for all interests.

The Dingle Peninsula much like the Kerry Way and Ring of Kerry on the neighbouring Iveragh Peninsula can to be enjoyed on foot via the Dingle Way and by car and bike via the Dingle scenic coastal driving and cycling route along the Wild Atlantic Way. Either way the peninsula is full of old world seaside towns and fishing villages, rich Irish Mythology and legend, archaeological sites, beaches and many many tourist attractions. From Megalithic stone circles to stone forts and neolithic sites, the Dingle Peninsula is thought to have more than 2,500 archaeological sites.  It is one of the most popular signposted hiking trails in Ireland and one of the worlds most spectacular and diverse walks taking 7 to 10 days to complete, crossing varied and spectacular terrain with overnight stops camping in this wild terrain or in some of Ireland best accommodation in the great towns and villages your pass along the way.

Typically the entire route is broken down into 8 key stages of approximate equal length and estimated duration. We have also broken some of these longer stages into smaller parts to allow everyone irrespective of fitness or time available to experience one of the best and varied walks in Ireland. Use our maps and elevation profiles to gauge the climb on each stage. Plan your holiday including accommodation using the the various Dingle Way stage below and don't worry is you want to break these stages into 2 or 3 parts:

  1. Stage 1 - Tralee Town To Camp Village - 19km (4-6 hours)
  2. Stage 2 - Camp to Annascaul Village - 18km (4-6 hours)
  3. Stage 3 - Annascaul to Dingle - 22km (5-8 hours)
  4. Stage 4 - Dingle to Dunquin (Dún Chaoin) - 20km (4-6 hours)
  5. Stage 5 - Dunquin to Ballycurrane (before the Brandon Mountain range) - 23km (5-8 hours)
  6. Stage 6 - Ballycurrane to Cloghane - 21km (6-9 hours)
  7. Stage 7 - Cloghane to Castlegregory - 26km (5-8 hours) 
  8. Stage 8 - Castlegregory to Tralee - 28km (6-9 hours)

With the Brandon and Sliabh Mish Mountains extending along the peninsula, there are also some great mountain hikes and Loop Walks along the Dingle Way route which allow you to explore the local area if you are staying longer. Luggage transfer and packed lunch services are also available from many of the accommodation providers.
