Stage 3a of the Beara Way is a walk from Allihies to the western end of Dursey Island and back again is a very difficult 12+ hour (40km) long distance walking route and requires summer time daylight. This spectacularly scenic route can be broken down into 2 to 4 shorter, easier and more manageable sections from Allihies to Dursey Island, a Dursey Island Loop, and a short Garinish Loop with great views at every turn
